Day 12: Why I Write

            Why do I write?
I write because I enjoy it.  I write because it lets me show the world a little piece of me.  It lets me express myself in a way that I couldn’t in everyday life.  I get to use big and ridiculous words, with just as big and ridiculous personalities.
I love creating characters.  People are the center of almost every story ever written.  People are complex things.  They struggle.  They fail.  They succeed.  They live. They die.  It is a challenge to create these characters in a way that other people will relate with them.  I try to make characters that my readers will love.  I believe that the little things are what make a character.  Each character has his/her individual problems and quirks.
When I create a villain, I try to create him in a way that you will see into his head and understand why he does what he does.
There is a story behind each and every character that defines them and makes them the way they are.
My favorite part about writing though, is adding humor.  Even in a serious story, bits of humor here and there add greatly to its content.  I love to make people laugh and I hope that my writing does this.  My greatest hope for my writing, is that it will bring a little bit of joy into my readers' lives
